Salón Amador Medellín

House and techno on Calle 10, a short walk downhill from Parque Lleras. Tickets, cover, timing and where to sleep close by.

Salón Amador is the club people mean when they say Medellín has a serious electronic scene. It sits on Calle 10, a short walk down the hill from Parque Lleras, and it has been booking house and techno DJs since 2014.

What it is

A club built for the music, not the bottle service

Salón Amador is run by Breakfast Club, the group behind several of Medellín’s electronic nights. It opened in 2014 and reopened in late 2020 in a bigger venue that roughly doubled its capacity. The design borrows from early twentieth-century Antioqueño mansions and takes its name from Carlos Coriolano Amador, a nineteenth-century Medellín businessman.

The owners say the club now draws tens of thousands of people a year and books around 300 artists annually. That volume is why it holds its place on international DJ routings rather than being a one-season hotspot.

Who will like it

Salón Amador is for you if…

You came to dance to electronic music. The sound system and the bookings are the point. If you want reggaeton and table service, Provenza’s bigger party clubs are a better fit, and our Parque Lleras nightlife guide sorts them by vibe.

You’re fine with a late start. Arriving at 10 pm usually means an empty room. Most people eat in Provenza, have a drink at a rooftop and walk down after midnight.

Getting in

Tickets, cover and the door

Buy ahead for any night with a named headliner — tickets go through Fourvenues and the price climbs closer to the date. On ordinary nights you can usually pay at the door. Bring a physical ID or passport copy; Colombian clubs check it, and entry is strictly 18+.

Drinks are priced like a premium club rather than a neighbourhood bar, and several guests mention that in reviews. Budget accordingly, and use a registered taxi or app ride home rather than flagging cars on Calle 10 at 4 am.

Pair it with a crawl If it’s your first night in Medellín, a guided rooftop-and-club crawl covers the cover charges and gets you oriented in Provenza before you head down to Amador on your own.
